Wood is the most versatile building material utilized; strong and durable and energy efficient. Wood is also the best environmental choice for all types of structures. Even so, timber and wood products are subject to weather strains, insects and other bio-hazard attacks, that compromise structural integrity of material and consequently lead to its premature failure. Fire has traditionally been seen as a risk for constructions made of wood. Not anymore.
