Management Team

The management team of BT Wood Ltd consists of Timo Reisto, Jari Kukkonen, Toivo Mertaniemi and Juha Estakari. The team has a strong background in the fields of wood and chemical industry and international business.

• CEO – Timo Reisto has extensive experience from international business and management of sales & marketing. He has worked in key positions of global life science companies for more than 20 years.
• R&D Director – Jari Kukkonen co-founder of BT Wood, has scientific background from Aalto University School of Science and Technology with the main interest in material chemistry & science and marketing. His long career in the chemical industry includes R&D and new business development in management positions at Kemira. Kukkonen has been an inventor on multiple patents in the area of clean technology.
• Vice President – Toivo Mertaniemi Domestic Sales & Customer Support is a wood technician and co-founder of BT Wood, who has wide operational skills and extensive connections to the wood products industry in the Nordics and an entrepreneurial mind-set. He has worked as an entrepreneur in the wood products industry for more than 15 years.
• Principal Scientist – Juha Koskela, Ph.D. In Organic/Fibre Chemistry. Mr. Koskela has made a strong academic research career in Finland and abroad, e.g. in the field of naturally occurring macromolecules and their derivatisation for biodegradable products replacing of oil based products for industrial applications.
• Finance and Administration – Juha Estakari is a BBA and a co-founder for BT Wood, who has wide skills in company’s administration as well as project accounting and other areas in finance.
